NOT A SINGLE THREAD

People inhabit a world that consists, in the first place, not of things, but of lines.
Lines, a brief history
Tim Ingold
[synopsis]
Equal-parts sensory exploration, political documentary, and philosophical inquiry, Not a Single Thread is a genre-defying short film that asks, among other things: What are the ties between climate justice and colonial debt? What is money made of? And what, ultimately, do we owe each other? The film exposes the present system of postcolonial cotton-extraction in Burkina Faso and questions contemporary attempts to reform the industry. It does not settle on a single storyline, nor does it let the viewer rest on easy preconceptions. Touch your money: you, too, are implicated.
